Welcome

If this describes you, you’re in the right place.

You’re the woman everyone depends on.

The one who figures it out, carries the weight, and keeps going, even when you’re exhausted. Others see you as capable and resilient, but beneath the surface, you’re tired of holding everything together.

You may find yourself questioning whether you’re doing enough, giving enough, or achieving enough. Slowing down feels unfamiliar. Rest feels undeserved. And despite everything you’ve accomplished, the pressure to keep pushing never seems to quiet.

Perhaps you’re navigating a major life transition, healing from painful experiences, or realizing that the survival strategies that once protected you are now leaving you feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or stuck.

Culture of Rest was created for high-achieving women who have been strong for too long—women who are ready to lay down the weight of hyper-independence and experience support, balance, and healing.

Together, we’ll gently explore the patterns, wounds, and beliefs that keep you in survival mode so you can move toward a life that feels grounded, balanced, and sustainable.

You don’t have to carry it all alone anymore.

Meet Your Therapist

Hi, I’m Chanece, founder of The Culture of Rest, LLC.

I am a licensed therapist dedicated to helping women navigate trauma, burnout, people-pleasing, boundary setting and life’s many transitions for over five years.

I believe therapy should be a space where you can exhale, show up authentically, and begin the work of healing without judgement. Throughout my career, I’ve witnessed how often women are praised for being strong while quietly carrying overwhelming responsibilities. I created The Culture of Rest because I believe rest, healing, and self-compassion are essential—not luxuries to be earned after burnout.

When i’m not working with clients, you can find me spending time with family and friends or practicing my own version of self-care. I enjoy peace and quiet (because kids), watching TV, listening to music, and traveling.

Seeking support is a courageous step. Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, exhausted, or simply ready for a change, I’d be honored to walk alongside you on your journey toward restoration and well-being.

Owner, Therapist

Chanece Currie-Lawrence, LISW

My approach to therapy is active, collaborative, growth-oriented and culturally responsive.

I believe meaningful change happens not only in session but also in the moments between sessions, so I often incorporate practical tools, reflection exercises, and personalized “homework” to help clients apply what they’re learning in real life.

While I strive to create a therapeutic relationship that is built on trust, authenticity, and respect, I am also comfortable being direct when needed. I am gentle but direct, compassionate and supportive, insight-oriented, strengths-based, and solution-focused.

Together we’ll explore and challenge patterns that may be keeping you stuck, encourage honest self-exploration, and develop practical strategies that support meaningful change.

If you’re looking for a therapist who balances compassion with accountability, we may be a good fit.
